मकर संक्रान्ति  या पोंगल दक्षिण भारत के सबसे लोकप्रिय  त्योहारों, मुख्य रूप से आंध्र प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु और कर्नाटक में से एक है। पोंगल जनवरी के मध्य में हर साल में होता है और उत्तरायण (उत्तर की ओर सूरज की यात्रा) के शुभ शुरुआत के निशान। पोंगल के चार दिनों के लिए रहता है। मकर संक्रांति पूरे भारत मे मनाया जाता है, इस दौरान हमें खाने मैं स्वादिस्ट पकवान मिलता है साथ ही तिल के लड्डू और स्वादिस्ट मिठाई मिलती है, साथ ही साथ यह त्यौहार पतंग उड़ाने के लिए भी जाना जाता है!

महाशिवरात्रि पर्व  शिव के अनुयायी धार्मिक उपवास और बेल की भेंट शिव को चढ़ाते है   जो शिव का महान रात है महाशिवरात्रि महोत्सव या 'शिव की रात' भगवान शिव के सम्मान में भक्ति और धार्मिक उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है। अंग्रेजी कैलेंडर में मार्च - शिवरात्रि फरवरी के महीने मे पड़ती है, जो फाल्गुन के महीने में नया चाँद की अमावस की 14 वीं रात पर पड़ता है। शिवरात्रि त्योहार मनाना और भगवान शिव को खुश करने के लिए शिवलिंग की पूजा करते हैं। शिवरात्रि के त्योहार के दिन सुबह जल्दी उठकर गंगा नदी में नहाना। नए नए कपड़े पहनने के बाद भक्त  शिवरात्रि  के दिन शिव जी पर दूध, शहद, पानी आदि के साथ शिव लिंग की पूजा करने के लिए मंदिर जाते है  शिव मंदिर की यात्रा, भगवान शिव की पूजा पूरे दिन और रात के माध्यम से की जाती है । हर तीन घंटे पुजारियों "नमः शिवाय 'का जप के बीच दूध, दही, शहद, घी, चीनी और पानी के साथ  स्नान और मंदिर की घंटी बजाकर  शिवलिंग की पूजा करते हैं। और रात्रि जागरण मे बड़ी संख्या मै श्रद्धालुओं द्वारा भगवान शिव की स्तुति में रात्रि  गायन भजन और भक्ति गीत होते है  यह त्यौहार सभी जगह  शिव मंदिरों में मनाया जाता है।

Diwali is a five-day festival in many regions of India, with Diwali night centering on the new moon – the darkest night – at the end of the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin and the start of the month of Kartika. In the Common Era calendar, Diwali typically falls towards the end of October, or first half of November each year. The darkest night of autumn lit with diyas, candles and lanterns, makes the festival of lights particularly memorable.Diwali is also a festival of sounds and sights with fireworks and rangoli designs; the festival is a major celebration of flavors with feasts and numerous mithai (sweets, desserts), as well as a festival of emotions where Diwali ritually brings family and friends together every year.
